Join Dame Joanna Lumley at the Kids for Kids Candlelit Christmas Concert to raise funds to provide emergency food for children in remote villages in Darfur, Sudan.
Taking place at St Peter’s Church, Eaton Square, on Thursday 3 December at 7pm, the 25th anniversary concert will raise vital funds for children and families affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Darfur, Sudan.
Longstanding Kids for Kids Patron Dame Joanna Lumley DBE FRGS will join the evening as Celebrity Guest Reader, delivering the main festive reading and taking part in the celebrity choir. She will be joined by fellow patrons Julie Etchingham and Lord Cope of Berkeley.
Set within the candlelit surroundings of St Peter’s, the programme will feature the Junior and Senior Choirs of Queen’s Gate School, organist Ian Curror, harpist Les Magee, conductor and pianist Stephen Barlow, soprano Bibi Heal and Thames Fanfare Brass, with a programme of festive music and Christmas favourites.
Funds raised will support Kids for Kids’ emergency work in Darfur, including providing food and seeds to families facing severe food insecurity. For 25 years, the charity has worked with remote villages in the region, providing practical and sustainable support including clean water, healthcare, food and livelihoods.
The concert begins at 7pm, followed by mulled wine and mince pies, included with your ticket. Tickets are £39.50 for adults and £18 for children (minimum donation).
